I was recommended this spot by a friend and had to give it a try. I haven't dined in yet, but from what I saw, there are plenty of tables available, so finding a seat shouldn't be a problem. Parking is also fairly easy to find in the surrounding neighborhood. Takeout service is quick and efficient. They originally estimated a 45-minute wait, but my food was ready in just 20 minutes. The food here is fantastic--every dish we tried was delicious. They're especially known for their dumplings, and our top picks are the Corn with Chicken and the Chives with Pork. Each order comes with 12 dumplings, and we highly recommend getting them pan-fried. They're even better reheated in the air fryer! Our go-to dishes include the Mongolian Beef, Yangchow Style Fried Rice, and Shanghai Style Chow Mein. One thing we really appreciate is that they're generous with their portions, especially when it comes to meat. For example, the Mongolian Beef here has way more meat than veggies--unlike most other places. Overall, this is a solid Chinese food spot that I keep coming back to. Highly recommend!

What an amazing find! We usually walk past this restaurant and opt for noodle stop, but on a whim, we decided to eat at China north dumpling. And it did not disappoint! We ordered salt and pepper wings, salt and pepper fish, A Choy, and hot and sour soup, all of it was delicious. The salt and pepper fish was crunchy, and nicely coated as well as the wings. It's a really good spot and we will be regulars there this year for sure

The braised eggplant is actually deep fried?? But, like the salt and pepper deep fried squid, is soooooooooo good. Vibe is decidedly traditional old school Chinese-American, on the affordable end and not fancy at all, and the beef we got is pretty good too. Green beans and the cucumber-with-garlic also tasty. Main thing that prevents a higher rating is that the carb dishes here are at best ordinary; had yang chow fried rice that was... fine?

Came here for lunch but didn't end up getting any of the lunch specials. Whenever I go to a new Chinese restaurant, I like to get the beef chow fun (one of my favorites) as a benchmark. I also got the wontons in chili oil because they have a minimum $25 for credit card. The chow fun was pretty decent but I've had better in the neighborhood. The wontons in chili oil was really good. They use a sesame sauce based sauce. Portions are large, which is great.

Amazing authentic North China cuisine at its best in San Francisco. Easy to find parking and location. Plenty of indoor sitting. All the dishes were well balanced with bold flavors, and super fresh. We ordered P02 Numb and Spicy stew with all veggies, M17 home style with homemade sauce, and V02 braised eggplant. Meat was perfectly crispy on outside and very tender and juicy on the inside. I had food in the North of China and this hits home in terms of cooking style and quality. Definitely will come back again.

We had a great lunch at China North Dumpling. Xiao long bao done right. Juicy and didn't break apart when you picked it up. Also liked the chive boxes. Looked like a hand pie but filled with egg and chives We also ordered potstickers, pork and corn dumplings, Shanghai nian gao and Shanghai chow mein. Noodles are handmade. Very good lunch and prices are decent. Place is also spacious and clean. Service was prompt and no frills.

Nice, clean, well-lit restaurant serving traditional XLBs, Stir Fried Lotus Roots, Pan Fried Beef Buns, and Bean Curd & Veggies Light Mustard Salad, the latter is not made at too many places due to the prep time it takes to set up the dish. Very good service and we always get the Bean Curd Salad...

Four stars out of the gate for the lip-smacking little dish of spicy, garlicky cabbage that was so good I unashamedly drank the dressing from the saucer. A little dish of salty, roasted peanuts were served alongside and as a solo diner it was *all mine*! Hot tea was brought immediately as well. When call a dish "sizzling," they aren't kidding! The "be careful" warning that came with the sizzling chicken with black bean sauce was good advice. The dish was piping hot and outstanding, as were the dumplings. I was dining alone and the leftovers were enough for an entire second meal. Very generous portions make for good value. Great, friendly service, too. My water was refilled twice without my even having to ask. The only thing detracting from the meal ever so slightly was the cold draft I felt most of the time. It was not enough to dissuade me from returning.

I celebrated the eve of the Lunar New Year at this restaurant. Reservations are available to avoid queuing. However, we were warned that food would take longer, and it took almost 30 minutes for some dishes to arrive. We ordered a variety of dishes, starting with Braised Tofu with Fish, a great option for non-spicy eaters, which came with mushrooms and bok choy. We didn't touch the vegetable dish that followed, Mushrooms and Bok Choy, as it was similar to the accompaniments in the braised tofu and fish. The Shanghai Style Chow Mein was a hit, with big, chewy noodles mixed with vegetables and pork. The Beef Sizzling Plate, which arrived last, came hot and covered with a foil, but still be cautious to avoid splashing oil. While listed as spicy, the dish was more savory, with a generous amount of black pepper. I also took home Frozen Dumplings for the next day. Bags come with 20 pieces and cash only. Order the Fish and Chive, which was disappointing. The dumpling barely had any filling. The fish was cut in large chunks, so almost all the dumplings were mostly chives, and if you were lucky, to find some fish. The Lamb and Zucchini was a hit with a great meat ratio and juicy. Overall, we would return, but skip the veggie dish and Fish and Chive Dumplings next time.
